These are works done mostly on white primed or natural, unbleached canvas. Some of my earlier pieces are a gentle or almost total interpretation of other people’s work; I am still learning and wanted to see how other artists have created certain effects. Kudos to the originators and thank you for inspiring me (the earliest being Rothko since 1996) and you’ll also spot some Shrigley and even a Fremantle Media logo.
Some designs are from my head or particular events or what I see around me or colours or sweets or buildings or TV idents or… well it just goes on.
And some might be an amalgam of all of what I just said :)

048 | Quantum Dot / 37 mil | 30 May 2021

032 + 033 | May Sunset | 16 July 2020

017 | Ακόμα μαθαίνω (Still learning) | Completed on the 20th Oct 2019

046 | Homage to Fromage II | Finished 12 May 2021 | I liked 042 so I painted myself a copy. I tried to copy it tho as you can see ended up accidentally changing the cream coloured ones, and deliberately toned down the canary yellow cheddar (I assume that’s what it was)

044 | “2020” | 22 Feb 2021 | Ha!! Need I say more? This painting symbolises how I felt about 2020. Not just the shit-show of Brexit which was thrust upon us but the ensuing and tragic global pandemic. 2020 will not be a year on which I look back fondly, nor will I miss the word ‘unprecedented’.

003 | Playing With Shapes: a coral epiphany | 27 May 2019 | (I know it sounds wanky but because I really did wake up and coral was the first colour that came into my head)

030, 031, 039, 037, 034, 041 | “Paint your plate” Series | 08 May 2020-01 Dec 2020 | Inspired by Habitat Latitude and Longitude plates

051 | “It Takes All Sorts” | 13 Apr 2022 | Inspiration: liquorice all sorts. Note that the pink and blue are thinner cos I hate the aniseed ones!!!! Totally rank. Also I love these raw canvases - a lot of fun and shows you don’t have to fill the entire thing to make an impact - which is less effort, less paint and draws the eye to the bright colours

005 | “After Australia” | 07 July 2019

020 | Spring | 30 Nov 2019

026 | Paint Your Mate | 20 Feb 2020

026 | Paint Your Mate (with modification) | 20 Feb 2020

042 | Homage to Fromage | 24 Dec 2020 | This was inspired by my Dad, who is obsessed with avoiding food waste, delicately arranging several remnants of cheese onto a Ryvita. He then said “why don’t you paint it!!”. The blue refers to a Stilton and the purple calls out his delicious homemade chutney. It also of course pays homage to Mondrian

001 | Sydneyside Fun | 29 Jan 2019

023 | For a friend | Xmas 2019

005 | “After Australia” | 07 July 2019

007 | “Goodbye!” (as named by my bestie) | 20 July 2019

014 | Messing with yellow (on a very cheap canvas) | 06 Sep 2019

004 | After Scarpa | 01 June 2019

006 | “Hirst went first… Counter intuitive! :)” | July 2019 | I bought a load of counters for our delivery board at work and decided to buy a thousand, not quite by mistake. Anyway, I then thought about all of the Damien Hirst paintings with dots and thought I would create something. The grey stripes I did a couple of weeks prior with some leftover paint really just mucking about on a very, very cheap canvas. Anyway I stuck some dots on it. (PS it’s pretty shit!!!)

008 | “AFTER V.B.” | 21 July 2019 | (Where I drew my inspiration from a print I saw on the floor at Victoria Baths)

002 | ‘Sketch your bro’ | 01 Feb 2019

020 | Spring | 30 Nov 2019

019 I No title - | 23 Nov 2019.

036 | Untitled | 03 Sep 2020 | I just painted it cos I liked the colours. My bro however said “First thing I thought of? Top left corner of an exit to a wonky yellow garage”. I love how you can see whatever you want

024 | AMS Delight | 31 Jan 2020 | This was done in 40 mins, just messing about with some colours. Done with no tape, so it’s very wonky

025 | Connections | 16 Feb 2020

040 | Paint your plate 6 | 30 Nov 2020

021 | NOT ART | 01 Dec 2019 | Borrowed heavily from Mr Shrigley; I hope he does not mind and I am sorry mine is a basic. Still learning!

043 | Untitled (for now) | 24 01 2021 | Canvas, acrylic, PVA, sand, grit, varnish

048 | Quantum Dot / 37 mil | 30 May 2021

040 | Paint your plate 6 | 30 Nov 2020 | With paper removed

050 | Untitled | 10 Mar 2022 | My bro: “Looks to me like a close up of the outer edge of a sideways sandwich in the sunshine. You can see the blue sky, the crust, the soft inner part of the slice of bread, then layers of beetroot, carrot, more beetroot, salmon, lettuce and thick layer of smashed avocado. Presumably enough to make it impossible to buy a house.” [!!!!]
